By participating in fierce battles with other players, warriors earn Heroism, and when they accumulate a certain amount, they are assigned the corresponding Rank. Warriors of high Rank may receive special awards, not available to commoners.

Heroism is a reward for participating in combat, but it must be earned. The Rank assigned directly depends not only on the amount of Heroism earned in a battle, but also on the player’s level. For example, as a player of level 10 you can level up any rank to Burglar, but no higher. In the table above you can see the ranks and the levels at which they become available. It is important to remember that upon reaching the maximum Rank for a character’s current level, Heroism will no longer accumulate. Growth in attributes continues when the player reaches a new level, at which they have access to the next Rank.
It is only by fighting worthy opponents, not lower than you in level, or only insignificantly lower, that you can achieve supreme skill. Remember that Heroism is awarded only in fights with other players. But what use is Rank? First of all, in the chat list a distinguishing mark will appear, indicating your Rank, which will make you stand out among other players. Secondly, in Haradan shops there are items that are only available to players that have reached a certain Rank. The higher your Rank, the more benefits you can hope to receive. A good example is the Fighter’s Ammunition Belt.

The technology for producing these items is complicated, so they are only sold to experienced warriors that have earned sufficient Heroism in combat, as indicated by their Rank. This Ammunition Belt requires you to have the rank of Fighter and gives you an additional slot in your combat pocket, which is a significant advantage.
Where can you fight and earn Heroism? At the moment all players of level 8 and above have access to the Battlefield, where a player can fight and receive Heroism for killing enemies and obtaining nuggets. The territory in which Heroism can be earned expands when a player joins a faction and can fight on the mainland in Dorheim against members of the opposing faction. The factions are accessible from level 15 by quest (in Branendal port) or by invitation to the faction from another player.
There are various ways of increasing the amount of Heroism awarded for each fight. As a result, you can expect to achieve a higher Rank more quickly, which will not only guarantee you glory, but also access to unique items. For example, while hunting you can obtain, or buy from a luckier warrior and take into combat with you, a new artifact - a Hero’s Crown. The value of the crown depends on its type. The better your crown, the more Heroism you will receive in the event of victory.

You should not forget that the amount of Heroism awarded directly depends on the level of your defeated opponent: the higher it is, the more Heroism you will receive.
While hunting in Haradan, if you kill especially powerful enemies that join the fight at the call of their comrades, you will find parts of an enchanted Gem, and these magical finds will definitely come in handy. After gathering a few of these Gems their owner can increase their Heroism.

Another way of increasing Heroism is Execution. By executing a monster you can receive an additional 50% monetary reward, and by performing an execution of a human opponent, you can receive double Heroism.
There is another opportunity to accumulate Heroism - Retribution. You can earn Retribution points after an unsuccessful fight with another warrior. The number of Retribution points will depend on the damage you caused to the other warrior before they were able to defeat you. Retribution will be accumulated until you achieve victory in a fight. After your first victory a certain amount of Retribution, equal to the Heroism received for damage in the victorious fight, will be transformed into additional Heroism, and the remaining points will be retained for subsequent fights.

Don‘t think that losing in a fight is more beneficial than winning! The number of Retribution points that you can earn is limited and does not change depending on the rank or level of a player. As a result, the higher your level, the more Heroism you will receive for a fight, and the fewer fights you can lose to increase your Retribution points.

You can check your Retribution points by looking in your backpack. To do this, click on the Parameters tab, which is under the image of your character, and choose the Retribution section from the list.
