Haradan through the prism of the millennia
The deserts evolved into tumultuous seas and have again become deserts in the time that has passed since the emergence on the plains of Haradan of the two great powers – the Devourers, who embody all that is dark and terrible and who arrived in the world from another reality; and the Juggernaut armor, gifted by the gods to the inhabitants of the world. The Flame of Destruction that flickers in the hearts of the Devourers spurs the monsters on to achieve their only aim – to destroy all life and lay waste to Haradan. The only thing that can withstand these monsters is the – living armor, hammered out in forges beyond the clouds from heavenly Juggernaut metal, which melds with its owner to form a single entity, giving them fantastic power.

For millennia the Juggernauts were passed from hand to hand, transforming the residents of Haradan into invincible warriors, whose metal-encased bodies stood in the way of the Devourers who had penetrated through gaps in the world’s canopy. This is the way things were when the armor was owned by the Arqons. However, this small tribe used the power of the Juggernauts not only to defend the frontiers of the world , but also to enslave the human civilization that had started to develop in the lands of Haradan. The Arqons did not reveal the secret of the Juggernauts to the Humans and passed off the heavenly armor as their own exterior, allowing the Humans to think of them as metallic super-beings that had descended from the heavens.
Having become the highest arbitrator and authority for the Humans, the Arqons ruled them for many centuries as latter-day gods, relying on the Steel Cohort – a military aristocracy that did everything it could to resemble its protectors, with the same «steel» bodies and characters. The warriors of the Cohort received riches and limitless power, which was a source of great dissatisfaction, but nobody was in a position to openly oppose them. However, the blindfold of ignorance was eventually lifted from the eyes of the Humans and they all learned of the Juggernauts, which resulted in the fall of the degenerate Arqons. However, it turned out that centuries of service to the false gods had left the Humans split into two camps, separate by a bottomless chasm of hate.
After the overthrow of their protectors, the disaffected were able to openly oppose the officers of the Steel Cohort and remind them of past injuries. In addition to this ancient enmity, there are other reasons for the conflict – the members of the Cohort and their opponents from the Free League, which formed during the anti-Arqon uprising, have very different views on the future of humanity.
The head of the League, Kraen Layten, sees the fall of the Arqons as an opportunity to build a new world based on principles of justice and freedom, in which there will be no dictators or aristocrats and where every resident will be able to chose their own path. To make these dreams a reality he even went to war with his own brother – Arq Layten, the leader of the Steel Cohort.
Arq is also fighting for a bright future for humanity, but he is convinced that the ideas of his brother are utopian and will result in chaos and in general destruction at the claws of the Devourers. He has sworn to prevent the Free League from gaining power. Arq believes that the world should be governed by aristocrats from the Steel Cohort and those that join with them. Only in this way will it be possible to create a strong state governed by order and discipline, capable of withstanding the Devourers.
The flames of this mutual hatred were fanned and eventually engulfed the world of Haradan in an inferno of civil war. Encased in the Juggernauts won from the Arqons the «Free League» and the «Steel Cohort» fight bitterly, as there is no way back and the world is destined to become an arena for the greatest battle ever seen, until one side is completely vanquished. The constant attacks by the Devourers make the situation even more fraught. These beasts are taking advantage of the internecine strife to strike at the rear of both camps. In these circumstances, the only refuge from the universal upheaval for those who like peace and security is the island of Radway. This is where Laea the Beneficent, the sister of the enemies Kraen and Arq, settled with her followers to avoid taking sides in the conflict.
The ruthless war destroys some and glorifies others. This is a time for true heroes who only come alive during moments of fierce conflict, in the heat of a battle, with a bloody sword in their hands and a predatory fire in their eyes. If this is you, then hurry to the land of Haradan, where adventure awaits you! Choose one of the opposing camps; gird yourself in victorious Juggernaut armor and, who knows, perhaps you are fated to tip the scales in favor of one side or the other, thereby determining the future of the entire world!
